Food as a Sacred Gift: Dr. Laurel Kearns
Dr. Laurel Kearns discusses how theological education can get outside of the classroom and into nature, and also about how food is a sacred gift. Laurel Kearns is Associate Professor of Sociology of Religion and Environmental Studies in the Theological School and Graduate Division of Religion of Drew University. She is assistant editor and contributor to the “Encyclopedia of Religion and Nature”. The video was recorded at the Midwest Symposium on Ecologically Informed Theological Education: Implications for Teaching, Learning and Seminary Life. The Midwest Symposium was held as part of The Seminary Environmental Leadership Initiative is funded through a grant from the Luce Fund for Theological Education, an initiative of the Henry Luce Foundation’s Theology Program.
