FEZANA participated in the 66th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, representing Zoroastrian voices in global discussions on gender equality, climate change, and environmental sustainability.

The 2022 CSW priority theme focused on “Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programs.” Through participation in this international forum, FEZANA highlighted the importance of inclusive leadership, environmental responsibility, and social justice within both global policy and Zoroastrian values.

Representatives including Carina Daruwala, Maya Joshi, Feroza Jussawalla, Afreed Mistry, Behram Pastakia, and Anahita Verahrami engaged in conversations addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, disaster resilience, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development.

This participation reflects the growing role of faith-based and community organizations in supporting climate action, gender equity, and environmental stewardship on a global stage. The discussion also emphasizes the importance of collaboration, advocacy, and cultural perspectives in shaping a more sustainable and equitable future.
