A 2019 NPR article explores the important role that faith organizations are providing in helping transition communities to affordable green energy plans. According to Gabriel Chan, a solar researcher and assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, “Religious institutions are long-standing community anchors… which makes them ideal partners for developers struggling to connect low-income households with clean energy”.

Turning our religious buildings into hubs for sustainable energy makes a big practical difference in congregants’ lives and is a great way for our religions to pave the way towards a more sustainable future.
