Jerusalem / Brasília — April 21, 2026 — A groundbreaking new series of short videos featuring Cardinal Jaime Spengler, President of CELAM (Latin American and Caribbean Episcopal Council), was launched today to inspire faith-based action on environmental stewardship.

The series is a collaboration between CELAM and the Interfaith Center for Sustainable  Development (ICSD), an organization dedicated to revealing the connection between religion and ecology and mobilizing people to act. The videos engage Catholic, Evangelical, and other religious communities in the United States and Latin America, offering a compelling vision of ecological  responsibility rooted in faith. The project is releasing 100 short videos in multiple languages distributed across major social media platforms, placing it at the forefront of digital storytelling on faith, climate and care for our common home.

In a recent video released as part of the series, Cardinal Spengler, considered the senior Catholic  religious figure in Latin America, said, “Everything is interconnected. Nature is not a resource to be  exploited, but a gift to be cared for.”

Rabbi Yonatan Neril, founder and executive director of ICSD said, “By combining the moral  authority of religious leaders with high-quality digital media, this initiative seeks to catalyze a new  wave of faith-driven ecological engagement at a critical moment for the planet.”

The series is produced by 1000 Media, the production arm of Nas Daily, a leading global digital  storytelling company. This builds on a highly successful collaboration last year between ICSD and  The Episcopal Church, which produced 50 short videos on religion and ecology that garnered over  nine million views across six social media platforms.

The video campaign is part of a broader initiative that includes ten multi-faith regional summits in  different cities in the United States and Brazil. These summits will bring together hundreds of faith  leaders, equipping and inspiring them to take public action on environmental issues within their  communities. This initiative seeks to unleash the power of clergy and faith communities as agents  of meaningful change.
