“Zoroastrianism and the Environment” – Ervad Yazad C. Unwalla (June 2, 2021)
“My Faith and the Environment – A Positive Interfaith Youth Response” brings together young voices from diverse religious traditions to discuss climate change, environmental responsibility, and the role of faith in protecting the planet.
Representing the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of Europe and the World Zoroastrian Organisation, Yazad shares how Zoroastrian teachings emphasize harmony with nature through seasonal festivals, reverence for the natural elements, and the spiritual responsibility of maintaining the earth in good order. The discussion highlights how environmental stewardship is deeply rooted in religious traditions and how faith communities can inspire sustainable action and ecological awareness.
This interfaith event encourages dialogue between different spiritual perspectives while exploring practical responses to climate change, renewable energy, sustainability, and environmental ethics. It also demonstrates how younger generations are helping connect faith, environmental justice, and collective responsibility for the future of the planet.
The programme features additional resources and organizations focused on renewable energy, ecological living, climate action, and faith-based environmental initiatives, creating a broader conversation about sustainability and interfaith cooperation.
Topics include interfaith dialogue, climate change, environmental stewardship, sustainability, Zoroastrian environmental teachings, renewable energy, youth activism, ecological responsibility, and faith-based approaches to protecting the Earth.
