The Vatican is going 100% Solar!
If you look out from the Vatican balcony, you’ll notice something unusual developing across its property.
Pope Francis, in his encyclical “Laudato Si’”, has repeatedly emphasized that caring for the environment is an urgent moral responsibility, as the planet faces a critical moment for the future of all life.
In response, the Vatican is taking major steps toward sustainability by investing in renewable energy. One of its most ambitious plans includes a large solar installation on land outside Rome—designed to move the city-state toward fully clean energy while also allowing agricultural use around the site.
It’s a striking example of how environmental action is being integrated into modern religious leadership.
