Faith leaders call for urgent action on climate change
As world governments grind their way through the latest round of UN climate talks in Durban, faith leaders are urging them to put humanity first. Government representatives have been meeting in the South African city this week for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to negotiate a follow-up agreement to the Kyoto Protocol.

Historic Interfaith Declaration on Climate Change signed at COP17
Faith and secular leaders from many traditions gathered in Durban on December 2nd, 2011 to sign a historic Interfaith Declaration on Climate Change. Those present included Bishop Geoff Davis representing Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Christiana Figueres, head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and Ela Gandhi, granddaughter of Mohandas Gandhi and a Member of Parliament in South Africa from 1994-2004.
